Meet The Founders

Anchor Bomb Brewing Company was founded by Nick Meadors and Travis Chain, two friends brought together through their children's cheerleading activities and a shared appreciation for great beer.

What began as casual conversations quickly revealed a long list of common interests. Chicago sports, Camaros, cigars, military service, and craft beer became the foundation of a friendship that naturally extended beyond the sidelines and into the garage.

Before long, Travis was helping bottle batches, brew days became regular events, and conversations about beer evolved into recipe development and experimentation. What started as a hobby soon became a pursuit of mastering the craft. From refining hop schedules and grain bills to testing new ingredients and techniques, each batch provided an opportunity to learn, improve, and create something better than the last.

Over the years, Nick and Travis have brewed a diverse lineup of beers ranging from the flagship Citrus IPA, Batteries Released, to the meticulously refined Low Visibility Detail Hazy IPA, Travis' personal passion project. Some recipes took multiple attempts to perfect, while others came together almost immediately, but each beer reflects the experiences, lessons, and stories gathered along the way.

The brewery's identity is shaped by the lives of its founders. Naval service inspired many of the beer names and themes, while friendships, family, travel, and shared experiences influenced the stories behind them. Whether it's a Liberty Call after a long deployment, a Midwatch Cup O' Joe during a late-night watch, or Welcome to the Mess during Chiefs Season, every beer has roots in a real experience.

Today, Anchor Bomb Brewing Company remains a homebrewing passion project with a long-term vision. While the brewery may still operate from the garage, the goal remains unchanged: continue refining the craft, growing the brand, and preparing for the day when Anchor Bomb Brewing Company opens its doors and shares its beers with a much larger audience.
